How much does a wedding in Italy cost?
Choose your guest count, the region and what you need: the estimate updates as you go. Real figures for Umbria and Tuscany, VAT included, for the 2027/2028 season.
A grounded starting point, not a quote.
An honest estimate.
Where they come from
These ranges are built on the weddings I photograph every year in central Italy and on the prices of the suppliers I work with most. I update them every season.
What's not included
Your guests' travel and accommodation, the honeymoon and the paperwork for a legal ceremony. For an outdoor ceremony, also allow for chairs and structures if the venue doesn't provide them.
Where you really save
The items that grow with your guest list — catering, flowers, favours — are the ones that move the total most. Ten fewer guests are worth more than any discount.
Before you do the maths
How much does a wedding in Umbria cost?
For 80–100 guests at a villa, with classic catering and full-day photography, most weddings land between €22,000 and €42,000. A restaurant or farmhouse brings that down a lot; a castle and gourmet catering push it up.
Is Tuscany more expensive than Umbria?
Usually, yes: venues, catering and styling cost around 15–25% more than in Umbria, especially in Chianti and the Val d'Orcia. Photographers, musicians and planners charge much the same, because they travel.
How much of the budget goes on photography?
Usually between 8 and 15% of the total. It's one of the few items that doesn't grow with your guest list, and the only one that gives you back the whole day years later.
Is the estimate a quote?
No, it's an order of magnitude. For photography I reply personally with a precise proposal within 24 hours; for everything else I can point you to suppliers I trust.
