Audrey and James, both of Korean heritage and with an international upbringing, were looking for a place that could combine elegance and intimacy. After visiting several Tuscan villas, they chose Tenuta del Gallo, in Amelia: Italian gardens, privacy and a tailored service the more touristy destinations couldn't offer. On 19 May 2025, with just 14 guests, they brought to life a celebration where Korea and Italy met.

A ceremony among the Italian gardens

The civil ceremony took place on the lawn of the formal garden, among geometric parterres and classical fountains, in a Renaissance setting. Audrey's father walked her to the altar through the hedges, towards a floral arch; James read his vows with a voice broken by emotion. James's mother led a traditional Korean blessing, adapted to the garden pavilion, with the family in hanbok among the manicured hedges.

Rituals that intertwine

Among the most precious moments, a Korean tea ceremony in the pavilion and the first look on the grand stone staircase. At golden hour, the cypress avenues and the parterres became the perfect backdrop for the portraits.

The reception on the terrace

Dinner, on the terrace overlooking the gardens, brought Korea and Italy together: reimagined Korean starters, mains with Umbrian ingredients and Korean techniques, local wines and desserts that wove the two cultures together. The intimate scale of just 14 guests made everything even more personal.

Why Tenuta del Gallo
