Some weddings feel like they've stepped out of a fairytale, and Martina and Daniele's was one of them: an intimate ceremony in the ancient heart of San Gemini and a celebration that came alight at sunset among the olive trees of Castello di Montignano.
The ceremony in San Gemini
It all began in the historic church of San Nicolò, in San Gemini. Martina walked the aisle to reach Daniele — elegant in a Davino Sposo suit — while the light filtered through the centuries-old stone. Together with videomaker Maurizio Rinaldi I kept watch over the vows in silence, never once interrupting the emotion.
The reception at Castello di Montignano
As the sun dropped we moved to Castello di Montignano, a relais and spa set in the hills of the Monti Martani. The guests were welcomed into the garden for the aperitivo, while make-up by Lauteri and the golden light brought every portrait to life against the medieval walls.
Dinner, catered by Apollinare Catering, was served in an elegant white pavilion among the olive trees, beside the panoramic pool with the castle façade as a backdrop. The evening, orchestrated by Event Music Planner, slipped away into music and dancing under the stars.
Why Castello di Montignano
No time constraints, several settings for the ceremony, twelve luxury suites and an open view over the hills: the castle lets you live your wedding "like a luxury home all to yourselves". If you're after a place like this, I also write about it among the most enchanting locations in Umbria.
