Giulia and Francesco's wedding stretched across the 900 hectares of Borgo San Faustino, in the countryside near Orvieto: a fairytale made of woods, gardens and princely residences.
A cathedral of trees
The day began with an intimate civil ceremony in the estate's little wood, where "the ancient trees form a natural cathedral" and the light filtered through the canopy. A private setting, designed for the people who matter most.
The reception at Villa Laura
After the vows, the guests moved to Villa Laura, once the residence of Princess Vogorides Ruspoli. The reception — up to around 200 guests — took place in the princely dining hall, among manicured gardens and a panoramic belvedere over the valley: endless settings for golden-hour portraits.
Understated luxury and local flavours
The coordination was entrusted to wedding planner Azzurra Danielli; the bride's gown bore the Come in una Favola signature. On the table, zero-mile cuisine with produce from the estate's own farm. The party then carried on in the eighteenth-century gardens, among cocktails and dancing under the stars. Villa Laura is among the residences I recommend in the guide to wedding venues in Umbria.
